Terms and Conditions

1. The Service

Lumai provides a curriculum-aligned question bank, worksheet creation, online and printable practice, scoring, insights, family accounts, and related features such as AI chat, hints, and handwriting capture. Features depend on your role (student or parent) and plan. We may add, change, or withdraw features.

The Service is for educational practice. It is not a school, examination board, or official assessment. Scores on Lumai do not constitute board exam results.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate registration details and keep your password confidential. Students and parents register separately. Unconfirmed accounts cannot keep a signed-in session. You are responsible for activity under your account.

Usernames may appear in public areas such as Top scorers of the day. Choose a username you are comfortable sharing.

We may suspend or close an account that violates these terms, including abuse of the question bank, payment fraud, or attempts to disrupt the Service.

3. Children and family accounts

Lumai is designed for Indian K–12 learners. Students may register on their own. Parents may create a child account or link an existing student, and can assign worksheets and share credits with verified children.

If you are a parent or guardian, you are responsible for the child accounts you create or link, including how the child uses the Service. If you are a student under 18, we encourage you to use Lumai with a parent or guardian. See our Privacy Policy for how family data is handled.

4. Plans, credits, and payments

Paid plans, credit packs, and coupons are described on Pricing. Prices are in Indian Rupees. Creating a worksheet from the question bank uses credits as shown in the product. Free Trial is a one-time welcome pack, not a recurring subscription.

Subscriptions and add-on purchases are processed by Razorpay. Activation and renewals follow the payment provider’s confirmation. Unused credits are not cash and are not generally transferable outside the Service. Billing questions, including any refund request required by applicable law, can be sent to admin@lumai.com.

Plan limits (credits, retakes, AI chat, extra badges, and similar entitlements) apply as shown in the product at the time of use.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• copy, scrape, or republish the question bank or worksheets except for personal or family study
• share login credentials, or access another person’s account without permission
• upload content that is unlawful, harmful, or infringes others’ rights
• interfere with the Service, circumvent plan limits, or attempt unauthorised access
• use AI features to generate or spread abuse, cheating services, or malware

6. AI features

Some features send prompts, answers, handwriting images, or chat messages to third-party AI providers so we can grade, explain, extract text, or reply. Those outputs can be incomplete or incorrect. You remain responsible for how you use them. Do not submit sensitive personal data in chat or uploads beyond what the feature needs.

7. Content and intellectual property

The Lumai name, branding, question bank, worksheets, and software are owned by Lumai or its licensors. You receive a limited, personal licence to use the Service for study. Public worksheets may be viewed, printed, or attempted as the product allows.

You keep ownership of content you submit (answers, handwriting images, feedback). You grant us a licence to host and process that content to operate the Service, including grading and support.

8. Availability

We aim to keep Lumai available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, outages, or third-party failures (payments, email, SMS, AI) may affect features.

9. Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by Indian law, we disclaim implied warranties of fitness for a particular exam result or school outcome. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of marks, admission, or opportunity arising from use of the Service. Our aggregate liability for a claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the three months before the claim, unless a mandatory law says otherwise.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in India have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any non-excludable consumer rights you have.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. The “Last updated” date will change, and continued use after the update means you accept the revised terms. Material changes may also be noted in the product or by email.
